CONAI and the material consortia
CONAI collects the contribution and coordinates the system; the six material consortia organise collection and recycling of their material.

Italy has one national packaging consortium. There is no choice of scheme: a producer joins CONAI, and CONAI works through six material consortia.

The material consortia
Each material has its own consortium under CONAI. You do not contract them separately: your CONAI membership covers every material.

What else is regulated in Italy
Packaging runs through CONAI. Electrical equipment and batteries have their own registers and schemes, and every producer under an EPR regime is to be recorded in the national register, RENAP.
